DOCKS

The port at the moment has two facilities of berth. The first one is an finger pier in service since 1962, it understands two berth 130 meters of longitude each one, a total width 30 meters and a soaked of 10,5 meters. Structurally, the dock is formed by a concrete flagstone sustained on piles of the same material and its state conservation has required of an important maintenance carried out during this last year.

The second dock is marginal, located in the riverside of the tideland. Has a longitude 360 meters, a width 25 meters and 10,5 meters of soaked, what allows the simultaneous berth of 2 ships of up to 20.000 tpm (tons dead weight). At the moment this is being subjected to an integral maintenance.

The structure of the dock forms a flagstone on piles, everything it of armed concrete. The difficulties of the land forced to limit the width to 25 m. The connection of the dock with the riverside was solved through 3 gangplanks 27 meters of longitude and 14 meters wide, located in the ends and in the center of the dock.

The current disposition in plant of the two docks limit their operability, so much in the load of the banana tree in boxes like in containers, in the case of the breakwater dock to require of more manoeuvre area and in the case of the marginal one for the interference of the spaces of water.
