Puerto Bolívar is located in South America, Republic of the Ecuador in the county of El Oro, border with the Peru in the south end of the Ecuadorian coast. They are located in the continental bank of the Tideland Santa Rosa that ends in the Channel of Jambelí, channel of the Archipelago of the same name, and this in turn in the Ocean Pacific. The port is protected of the sea opened up by the Island Jambelí, since it is located inside only a channel of 4,5 miles, for this reason it is not affected by the surf; the tide current is of 1,5 knots in the axis of the channel, the maximum wind is of 10 knots.

Their geographical coordinates are 03º 15' 55 '' South latitude and 80º 00' 01 '' longitude West. The coastal border of the area is covered with swamp and receives contributions of several rivers, among them Jubones river. The sailing channel has depths that vary between 9 and 12 meters, referred to the MLWS (half level of sicigias low tides).
